Walterscheids WaterFree Grass is family owned, operated, and the only synthetic turf company on the Western Slope. My Father Leonard Walterscheid and myself Daniel Walterscheid decided to join forces to create a small business while I attended college at Colorado Mesa University. Leonard wanted to team up with his son to teach him how to manage and grow a business so when I graduated in spring of 2014 I could have an established business to take over.
Being a Former Chicago Bear and a family continually involved in football, you could ask who has more experience on turf? After many months of research we became dealers as well as certified installers with ProGreen because of their dedication to quality products, superior service/support, and attention to detail.
Walterscheids WaterFree Grass LLC has been an authorized ProGreen Distributor and Installer since 2010. Our company soon turned into doing all Landscape. It started with doing curbing and rock around the synthetic grass and grew into doing all landscaping. Then two years ago we started to decorative concrete on driveways, indoor flooring, and countertops. Our Synthetic grass product is ProGreen Synthetic Grass who has been a leader in the synthetic grass industry since 1987. They manufacture their own grass out of two USA plants and they are the only company in the industry that offers a 3rd party insured 8 year warranty. Their low overhead translates into lower customer pricing and they most commonly served areas near the Western Slope and Grand Junction, CO.
On May 1, 1987, ProGreen Synthetic Grass was born and synthetic grass has forever changed. They evolved from artificial putting greens to synthetic grass lawns, playgrounds areas, dog-runs, bocce ball courts, and athletic fields. They were the first synthetic turf company to develop many of the innovations that the artificial grass industry takes for granted today. Now Walterscheids WaterFree Grass has brought it to the Western Slop.
Walterscheids WaterFree Grass is the only artificial turf company in North America producing 100%% of their own products in their own manufacturing facilities! We also utilize cutting-edge polymers from DOW and EXXON. From resin pellet to finished synthetic grass, they provide the best economies of scale, quality assurance, logistics, and turnaround times.
We have 2 state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Dadeville, AL and in Chatsworth, GA. The Dadeville facility extrudes the yarns that become the grass fibers. The Chatsworth facilities have provided yarn and finished turf products for over 1,500 fields and countless synthetic lawns around the world. They’re the only synthetic grass company in the USA that handles everything from raw materials all the way through installation.
ProGreen, Walterscheids WaterFree Grass and SPRINTURF joined forces and officially merged in March, 2012. SPRINTURF has been the artificial turf field business since 1998 and they have extensive experience with over 1,000 sport field installations in North America. They have installed leading sports programs, colleges, universities and professional athletic teams.

No more worrying about brown spots and how much water I am using. This grass looks and feels so real. The durability is great for kids. I don't have to worry about mowing around the playground, and the yard looks good all year.- La W. 6/9/2018
